US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that the US should stop selling Bitcoin.

There are hours left until the White House Crypto Summit to be held today. While positive news is expected from this summit, the US Treasury Secretary made important statements before the summit.

Speaking to CNBC, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that the US should be a leader in Bitcoin (BTC) and crypto and should lead the world.

Bessent also said that the US should first stop selling Bitcoin and then bring Bitcoin to the country.

Bessent, who also signaled new Bitcoin purchases, said, “The first thing to do is to stop the government's Bitcoin sales. Time will tell how new BTC purchases will be.”

The US Treasury Secretary also spoke about customs tariffs, one of the most talked about topics in recent days.

“With his latest moves, Trump has begun the process of reorienting our international economic relations through tariff policies.

Trump wants to trade fairly with China, but we still have a long way to go.

China needs to rebalance.”
