The National Securities Commission of Argentina (CNV) has officially approved General Resolution No. 1058, establishing final regulatory guidelines for Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASP). The new regulations cover registration obligations, cybersecurity, asset custody, anti-money laundering measures and risk disclosure among others, aiming to ensure transparency, stability and user protection in the crypto ecosystem. According to the new rules, VASPs must ensure separation of company and customer funds, conduct annual audits regularly and submit reports to CNV monthly. In addition, unregistered companies or those violating regulations may face deregistration or court injunctions. Regarding compliance deadlines: registered individual service providers need to complete adjustments before July 1; domestic registered companies need to comply by August 1; while foreign companies must meet the new requirements before September 1. Roberto E.

Silva , Chairman of CNV stated that those who fail to comply on time will not be allowed to operate in Argentina.
