The Argentine Congress approves an investigation into officials over the Libra scandal
The Argentine Chamber of Deputies voted on Tuesday to approve three draft resolutions, deciding to establish a special committee to investigate the Libra cryptocurrency scandal that has been plaguing President Javier Milei's government since February. "It's time for Congress to review whether this has caused any harm to Argentina: we are committed to finding out the truth." Deputy Pablo Juliano told the House in Tuesday's debate. Gabriel Bornoroni, a deputy from La Libertad Avanza party, defended the president in the debate, implying that the opposition was "creating a farce" because they were "dissatisfied with our fiscal surplus for all of 2024 and this year".
