Protests Held Nationwide Against Recent U.S. Government Policies
On April 19 local time, protests were held in several cities across the United States, including New York and Washington, D.C. Organizers of the protests stated that they were opposing the Trump administration's actions that infringe on civil rights and the Constitution, including deporting a large number of immigrants, dismissing numerous government staff, and effectively downsizing the federal government by closing multiple agencies. Additionally, protesters plan to hold events outside Tesla dealerships to protest against Elon Musk and the role played by the Department of Efficiency in downsizing federal government operations.
