German economist: China has an advantage in the current Sino-US trade dispute

According to the IfW Institute for Economic Research, if the US-China trade dispute continues for a long time, Chinese exports to the US could decrease by 80%, but China's overall foreign trade would only decrease by about 10%. Hentz, chief economist at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy in Germany, said that the US is isolating itself from the global trade system, while China is still opening up to the world market, which also puts China in a favorable position in the US-China trade dispute.
