MicroStrategy, now operating as Strategy, has seen significant growth in institutional and retail ownership of its stock, reflecting its ongoing Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) accumulation strategy.

Michael Saylor, the company’s executive chairman and co-founder, revealed on social media platform X that as of the first quarter of 2025, more than 13,000 institutions and 814,000 retail accounts directly hold MSTR shares.

Additionally, an estimated 55 million beneficiaries have indirect exposure to MSTR through exchange-traded funds (ETFs), mutual funds, pensions, and insurance portfolios.

Saylor emphasized that this broad indirect exposure is largely due to the company’s presence in ETFs and retirement accounts, which has expanded alongside its Bitcoin holdings.

Strategy currently holds 531,644 Bitcoins, including a recent purchase of 3,459 BTC valued at approximately $286 million.

This latest acquisition was financed through an ongoing at-the-market equity offering program.

During the same period, Strategy sold 959,712 shares of its Class A common stock, raising $285.7 million in net proceeds.

As of April 13, the company had $2.08 billion in MSTR shares and $20.97 billion in STRK shares available for future issuance.

This provides Strategy with additional capacity to acquire more Bitcoin and pursue other digital asset initiatives.

Saylor, a long-time advocate for Bitcoin, projects the cryptocurrency could reach $13 million by 2045.

He also outlined a bullish scenario of $49 million and a bearish outlook of $3 million per Bitcoin.

Recently, Saylor met with U.S. regulators, including the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Crypto Task Force and the House Financial Services Committee.

He also participated in the White House Crypto Summit hosted by former President Donald Trump.

Saylor argued that Bitcoin’s market capitalization could reach $500 trillion and that the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve could generate between $16 trillion and $81 trillion for the U.S. Treasury by 2045.
