President Trump's inaugural fund received a total of $18 million in donations from crypto companies and executives
On April 22, according to Fortune magazine, documents from the Federal Election Commission show that due to record-breaking donations of $239 million from corporate supporters and executives, U.S. President Donald Trump held the most luxurious inauguration event in history. A significant portion of the funds came from the cryptocurrency industry, which has been one of Trump's most enthusiastic supporters: cryptocurrency companies and their executives donated $18 million to the 47th President's inauguration ceremony. Among all donors, Ripple Labs had the highest donation amount, nearly $4.9 million, ranking second. Ripple has been involved in a long-running lawsuit with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). One of the world's largest poultry producers, Pilgrim's, topped the list with a $5 million donation.
Online brokerage Robinhood (a significant portion of its revenue comes from cryptocurrency trading) donated $2 million. Other major donors include some top companies in the industry, such as trading platforms Coinbase, Kraken, and Crypto.com; stablecoin issuer Circle (recently applied for listing); and venture capital giant Paradigm, which had assets under management near an all-time high in 2024—both of the latter donated $1 million.
