Canadian Election Approaches, Cryptocurrency Not a Main Topic in the Election
Canada will hold its election next week, where voters will decide the new government and prime minister. However, cryptocurrency has not become a main topic in this election. Although the two main candidates have expressed their opinions on the matter, they have not centered their campaigns around cryptocurrency. Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre has pledged to make Canada the "global capital for blockchain and cryptocurrency" and supports Bitcoin; while Liberal Party leader Mark Carney has criticized cryptocurrency for its speculative nature, believing it lacks practicality as a payment tool.
