VCs eye $225B stablecoin market and RWAs in H2 2025

Venture capital firms are aligning their investment strategies toward stablecoins and real-world assets (RWAs) for the second half of 2025, based on industry discussions.

According to Andy, host of The Rollup Co., the stablecoin sector is expected to see an increase in the number of issuers, opening up more opportunities for yields, airdrops, and protocol-level innovation.

“Stablecoin issuers are very investable and will likely 10x in quantity,” Andy stated.

As of April 2025, Token Terminal data shows over $225 billion in stablecoins issued by more than 50 entities.

However, the market remains dominated by Tether and Circle, according to CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko data, which track over 200 and 300 stablecoins respectively.

This projected expansion may reshape yield offerings and ecosystem growth in decentralised finance.

Andy also shared views on the growing influence of RWAs within venture capital circles.

“RWAs, RWAs, RWAs are all that matter,” he emphasised.

The market cap of RWAs exceeded $20 billion in April 2025, with platforms like RWA.xyz reporting this figure.

The asset class is gaining institutional interest, supported by entities such as BlackRock, with projections estimating the sector could reach $10 trillion by 2030.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is another sector of interest, though Andy noted a development gap between Web2 and Web3 applications.

“The AI sector is interesting but better builders in Web2, for now,” he said.

Despite this, there is growing movement of talent into decentralised AI (DeAI).

“Legit DeAI projects really are, for the first time, attracting legit world-class engineers and researchers from Web2 AI,” observed Anthony, founder of blockchain121.

Despite setbacks in 2025 market performance, venture capital activity continues to shape the emerging directions in crypto investment, particularly around stablecoin infrastructure and asset tokenisation.
