US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency: US Banks Can Buy and Sell Crypto Assets on Behalf of Clients
The U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency issued an interpretive letter on Wednesday stating that national banks are allowed to buy and sell crypto assets on behalf of their clients. The regulatory body also noted that as long as there is appropriate risk management, national banks can outsource cryptocurrency custody and trade execution services to third parties, effectively granting them greater flexibility in handling cryptocurrencies.
