The UK's Financial Conduct Authority appoints David Geale as Managing Director of Payments and Digital Finance
According to Crowdfundinsider, the UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has appointed David Geale as the Executive Director of the Payment Systems Regulator (PSR), while also serving as the head of the Payments and Digital Finance department. Geale has been acting as the PSR's interim director since June 2024. Geale has worked at the FCA and its predecessor, the Financial Services Authority (FSA), for over 20 years, having served as the Director of Retail Banking, where he led several policy reforms, including the retail distribution review during Brexit. Recently, he has been responsible for developing the regulatory framework for crypto assets, savings rate policies, and mortgage market reform plans.
