The Ethereum Foundation has committed over $32 million in grants during the first quarter of 2025, reinforcing its support for the technical and community development of the ecosystem. anúncio was made on May 8 and details that the amount was distributed through the Ecosystem Support Program, benefiting 94 projects in different areas of activity.
The amount represents a 63% increase over the amount granted in the last quarter of 2024, which totaled US$11,6 million. The move signals the foundation’s growing focus on expanding the adoption and infrastructure of the Ethereum network.
Most of the donations were directed to Community and Education initiatives, covering 32 projects focused on research, conferences, workshops and bootcamps. The aim is to broaden the understanding of the Ethereum network and engage new participants in building the ecosystem.
Another highlight was the Developer Experience and Tools area, which received 16 grants. Among the projects contemplated was CertiK, which specializes in blockchain security and received two grants. The company develops solutions for verifying zkVM circuits, optimizing arithmetic operations and data storage in zero-knowledge environments.
The areas of Zero-Knowledge Proofs and Cryptography also received attention, with 14 initiatives supported. The Consensus Layer had seven projects funded, while Execution, Growth and Protocol Support shared another 10 grants. The foundation also allocated four grants to General Growth initiatives and two via indirect funding.
Ten projects were classified in the “Other” category, which includes topics such as decentralization, research on stablecoins, and integration of the traditional financial system into the Ethereum network. One of the highlights was L2Beat, a platform that provides data on Layer 2 solutions. The foundation reinforced its support for the transparency of these solutions, which are considered strategic for the scalability of the network.
