Filecoin Foundation collaborates with Lockheed Martin to successfully transmit data in space using IPFS
Show original
Odaily Planet Daily News Filecoin Foundation and Lockheed Martin Space have announced the successful use of a version of the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) for data transmission in space. The test was conducted on a satellite orbiting Earth. Filecoin Foundation President Marta Belcher stated that IPFS can effectively reduce the latency of space data transmission by using content-based addressing and retrieving data from the nearest copy. Additionally, the distributed architecture of IPFS helps handle data corruption caused by radiation and ensures data integrity through cryptographic verification, which is crucial for data reliability in the space environment.
