Nasdaq-listed Semler Scientific crossed a somewhat notable milestone on Friday with its latest Bitcoin purchase.
Between May 13 and May 22, 2025, the healthcare tech firm acquired 455 BTC for $50 million, with an average purchase price of $109,801 per coin, according to a new 8-K filing . Semler's latest purchase was made with proceeds from its $500 million at-the-market offering program.
As of May 22, Semler Scientific held 4,264 Bitcoin, which were acquired for an aggregate of $390 million at an average purchase price of $91,471 per Bitcoin, and had a market value of $474.4 million.
Semler Scientific said its BTC Yield was 25.8% in the year-to-date period. Following in the footsteps of Strategy, the company treats Bitcoin Yield as a performance indicator to assess the success of its Bitcoin acquisition strategy.
Semler Scientific develops, manufactures, and markets products and services that support the early detection and treatment of chronic diseases. The company adopted a Bitcoin treasury strategy in May 2024.
Semler Scientific's stock traded down 6.7% to $41.89 at publication time, according to The Block's SMLR price data . The company has a market capitalization of $498 million.
