He said, "China is one of the largest AI markets in the world and a stepping stone to global success. Half of the world's AI researchers are in China, and winning China's platform will lead globally." The current U.S. policy is based on the assumption that China cannot manufacture its own AI chips, which Huang pointed out has always been problematic, but is now clearly incorrect.
