The Litecoin Summit 2025 kicked off today in Las Vegas, with founder Charlie Lee opening the event with his session, ‘State of the Coin.’
Speaking to the crowd, Lee doubled down on what Litecoin has always stood for. “Litecoin is a people’s currency,” he said — and the room erupted in applause.
He praised the Litecoin community, calling it “the most non-toxic community in the space.” The remark was met with cheers and hoots from attendees, many of whom have been part of the project since its early years.
He gave out codes so people could just copy that and start mining from day zero, just after the launch, highlighting how accessible the system was in its early days. According to him, a simple CPU was all that was needed.
Throughout the session, Lee kept the focus on inclusivity. “Everyone can attend a summit,” he said, underscoring the open nature of both the event and the Litecoin community.
The summit, now a key annual event in the Litecoin ecosystem, brings together developers, builders, researchers, and longtime supporters from around the world. It will continue over the weekend with talks, panels, and community meetups.
This is a developing story.
