Progress in Japan-US Trade Talks to Be Discussed Again Before G7 Summit

The Japanese government stated that Japan's tariff negotiator, Akazawa Ryo, held a 130-minute meeting with U.S. Treasury Secretary Besent and U.S. Commerce Secretary Lutnik. Japan's tariff negotiator, Akazawa Ryo, strongly urged the U.S. to reconsider its tariff measures. We have made progress in trade negotiations with the U.S., and the U.S. has agreed to expedite trade talks and hold another meeting before the G7 summit.
