ZachXBT: Claims That Silk Road Founder Ross Ulbricht's Auction Donation Might Be "Self-Donation" May Not Hold
According to a report by Jinse Finance, monitored by ZachXBT, the latest investigation suggests that the previous claim about the "Silk Road" founder Ross Ulbricht's auction donation possibly being "self-donated" may not hold. Analysis shows that two Bitcoin addresses are temporally linked to the 300 BTC donation received by Ross Ulbricht (from the mixer Jambler). The Bitcoin from 1Mp5hH can be traced back to exchange activity in late 2014. 1CNDW had exchange activity in 2019 and was previously flagged in compliance tools. Both addresses were dormant after November 2019 until they made large deposits to the mixer Jambler between April and May 2025, around the same time as the funds received by Ross Ulbricht.
