- Disappearing messages and calls without number reach X
Billionaire Elon Musk has announced the launch of XChat, a new direct messaging feature integrated into the X platform, formerly known as Twitter. The main innovation is the adoption of a security architecture inspired by Bitcoin's cryptography, with the entire infrastructure being rebuilt with the Rust programming language, known for its efficiency and memory safety.
All new XChat is rolling out with encryption, vanishing messages and the ability to send any kind of file. Also, audio/video calling.
This is built on Rust with (Bitcoin style) encryption, whole new architecture.

According to Musk, the new system completely replaces the old encrypted messaging model, which until now was only available to paid subscribers. The overhaul includes features that address both usability and user privacy.
New features in XChat include self-destructing messages, sending files in any format, and support for cross-platform audio and video calls without requiring a phone number. This approach aims to expand the reach and facilitate communication between users with different devices and systems.
Starting today we will be pausing the encrypted DMs feature while we work on making some improvements. You will still be able to access your encrypted DMs, but won't be able to send new ones.

Access to XChat is still limited to a select group of users, as the current phase is considered an initial implementation phase. However, the system is expected to completely replace the platform's old messaging model in the coming months.
The move is part of a larger strategy by X to expand its services. Musk also recently confirmed that X Money, the platform's digital wallet service, will be launched soon. Developed in partnership with Visa, the feature will allow peer-to-peer transactions and integration with debit cards. According to Musk, the initial version will be highly restricted and will focus on personal financial security.
This will be a very limited access beta at first. When people's saving are involved, extreme care must be taken.

With this, X expands its operations in areas such as digital privacy, cryptocurrency payments and decentralized communication, bringing the platform ever closer to a multifunctional ecosystem.
