GoPlus: Phishing Attack on EIP-7702 Smart Accounts Resurfaces, Over $10,000 in Crypto Assets Stolen
According to a report by Jinse Finance, GoPlus Security has issued a security alert. Recently, new phishing attacks targeting EIP-7702 smart accounts have reappeared on the Ethereum mainnet, BNB Chain, and Base chain. In just three days, thousands of addresses have been affected, with losses exceeding $10,000 in crypto assets. Attackers use an address to conduct authorization phishing, and once users authorize, the address can automatically transfer any BNB or other tokens subsequently deposited by the user. The GoPlus security team advises users: do not transfer or authorize to unfamiliar addresses. The current 7702 scam is conducting large-scale phishing attacks using historically leaked private key addresses, so it is crucial to remain vigilant.
