OpenSea OS2 Exits Testing Phase, Monthly User Count Reaches New High in 2023
According to a report by Jinse Finance, last month, the NFT trading platform OpenSea reached its highest number of monthly active users since mid-2023. Data from Dune Analytics shows that the platform had 467,322 users who made at least one transaction in May, a figure comparable to levels from mid-2022 to early 2023. The number of active users in June may be on par with or even higher than in May, currently standing at 236,091. Although user interest in OpenSea has rebounded, the platform's monthly trading volume remains far below the levels seen before the NFT market downturn in early 2021 and 2022. Despite a trading volume of $81 million last month, January 2022 saw a peak monthly trading volume of over $5 billion. The surge in active users may be attributed to the official launch of OS2 on May 29 and users' anticipation of potential rewards. The beta version was only open to Gemesis NFT holders (94,757 NFT collectibles created by OpenSea in April 2023) and focused on testing new features.
