Israel urges the United States to join military action against Iran, but the US has yet to consider
In the past 48 hours, Israel has requested that the United States join its military operation against Iran to "eliminate Iran's nuclear program," but so far, the U.S. has not considered this option. Israel lacks the bombs and heavy bombers required to destroy Iran's key nuclear facility at Fordow, while the United States possesses both. However, the Trump administration has so far kept its distance from Israel's actions and maintains that Iran's retaliation against U.S. targets would be illegitimate. If the United States were to participate in a direct attack on Iran, even if limited to bombing a single site, it would draw the U.S. directly into the war.
