Germany, France, and the United Kingdom propose negotiations on Iran's nuclear program
German Foreign Minister Waddafur stated that Germany, France, and the United Kingdom are ready to immediately hold talks with Iran regarding Tehran's nuclear program in order to ease tensions in the Middle East. While visiting the Middle East, Waddafur said he is working to help de-escalate the conflict between Israel and Iran, noting that Tehran had previously missed opportunities for constructive negotiations. "I hope this is still possible," Waddafur said. "Germany, France, and the United Kingdom are prepared. We propose that Iran immediately enter into negotiations on its nuclear program, and I hope this proposal will be accepted." "This is also a key prerequisite for resolving the conflict—that Iran does not pose a threat to the region, to Israel, or to Europe."
