After nearly five years of litigation, Ripple and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission are seeking a settlement, but they still need to persuade Judge Analisa Torres to change her ruling, lift the injunction against Ripple, and reduce its $125 million fine to $50 million, arguing that "exceptional circumstances" justify the request. Cryptocurrency attorney John Deaton believes there is a 70% chance that Analisa Torres will rule in Ripple's favor, as the judge may prefer a final judgment over another round of litigation.
