Report Shows: Hong Kong Returns to Top Three in Global Competitiveness
On the 17th, the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland, released the "2025 World Competitiveness Yearbook," in which Hong Kong's global competitiveness ranking rose by two places to third in the world, marking its return to the top three for the first time since 2019. Hong Kong SAR Chief Executive John Lee met with the media before attending the Executive Council on the same day, stating that the yearbook evaluates the competitiveness of global economies based on a combination of objective data and business community opinions. According to the yearbook, Hong Kong's competitiveness has seen a significant improvement, with a total score of 99.2 out of 100, an increase of 7.7 points—the highest growth among the top ten economies.
