UK Plans to Introduce Bank Crypto Asset Exposure Limits by Next Year
David Bailey, Executive Director of Prudential Policy at the Bank of England, stated that the UK plans to introduce new restrictive regulations on banks holding crypto assets by 2026 to guard against financial stability risks. The proposal will draw on the disclosure framework developed by the Basel Committee, which recommends that banks limit their exposure to crypto assets such as Bitcoin to within 1%.
