Putin: Iran and Israel Should Cease Hostilities
According to a report by Jinse Finance, citing CCTV News, on the 18th local time, Russian President Vladimir Putin met with foreign media executives in St. Petersburg and stated that Russia opposes trade wars and all forms of trade restrictions, supports the establishment of a fair international order, and advocates adherence to national trade rules. Regarding the situation in the Middle East, Putin said that Iran and Israel should cease hostilities and seek ways to reach consensus and safeguard the interests of both sides. On the relationship between Germany and the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Putin stated that Germany cannot serve as a mediator in the conflict because it does not maintain a neutral stance but instead supports one side. In some respects, Russia views Germany as a participant in the conflict. However, Putin also noted that if German Chancellor Merz were to call and express willingness to hold talks, Russia would be ready to make contact at any time.
