Bakkt Updates Investment Policy and Announces $1 Billion Securities Offering to Include Bitcoin and Other Digital Assets in Corporate Treasury
According to a report by Jinse Finance, documents released by Bitcoin Magazine show that Bakkt, a publicly listed company focused on the digital asset sector, has updated its investment policy and announced a $1 billion securities issuance plan aimed at incorporating digital assets into the company’s treasury. Screenshots of the documents indicate that, to support this new strategy and provide funding flexibility for potential digital asset acquisitions, Bakkt has filed a mixed securities issuance plan of up to $1 billion. The plan covers various types of securities, including Class A common stock, preferred stock, debt securities, warrants, and units. The company stated that in the future, it may use proceeds from the issuance, surplus cash, or existing capital sources to acquire digital assets, subject to the restrictions outlined in its investment policy. In addition, Bakkt plans to explore other opportunistic financing options, including issuing convertible notes, bonds, or other debt instruments, to purchase digital assets or for other purposes in line with its investment policy.
