According to a report by Jinse Finance, the U.S. Department of Justice has announced the bust of the largest healthcare fraud case in history, indicting a total of 324 defendants and involving over $14.6 billion in fraudulent claims. The defendants include 96 medical professionals such as doctors, nurses, and pharmacists, spanning all 50 federal districts and 12 state attorneys general offices across the United States. The operation also seized more than $245 million in cash, cryptocurrency, luxury vehicles, and other assets. Meanwhile, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) prevented over $4 billion in fraudulent payments by suspending or revoking the billing privileges of 205 providers. Among the cases, the so-called "Gold Operation" accounted for $10.6 billion in fraudulent amounts and was linked to organized crime groups in Russia, Estonia, and Kazakhstan. Attorney General Pamela Bondi stated that there will be zero tolerance for criminal activities that exploit the healthcare system for profit.
