Vitalik Co-initiates EIP-7983 Proposal to Enhance Network Resistance to DoS Attacks
Odaily Planet Daily reports that Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and Toni Wahrstätter have jointly proposed EIP-7983, which suggests setting a single transaction gas limit on Ethereum at 16.77 million (independent of the block gas limit). The aim is to strengthen the network’s resistance to DoS attacks, alleviate issues such as load imbalance, state bloat, and block validation delays caused by high-gas transactions, and at the same time optimize zkVM compatibility and parallel execution efficiency. The proposal is currently in draft stage.
