Russian Embassy Requests U.S. State Department to Provide Update on Former WEX CEO Dmitry Vasiliev
According to ChainCatcher, citing Cryptonews, the Russian Embassy in Washington, D.C. has requested the U.S. State Department to provide an update on the status of Dmitry Vasiliev, the former CEO of the cryptocurrency exchange WEX, to Moscow.
The Russian state news agency TASS reported that the embassy has formally submitted the request to the State Department. The embassy stated that it is "closely monitoring the situation of Dmitry Vasiliev" and has asked the U.S. State Department to provide information as soon as possible regarding Vasiliev's whereabouts, health condition, and procedural status.
Previous reports indicated that Polish authorities arrested the former CEO of Russian CEX WEX and will extradite him to the United States.
