According to a report by Jinse Finance, U.S. tariff revenue has surpassed $100 billion for the first time in the current fiscal year, reflecting the impact of tariff increases implemented by the Trump administration. The U.S. Treasury Department's monthly budget report shows that tariff revenue in June reached $27 billion, a year-on-year increase of 301%. Total tariff revenue for the fiscal year to date has risen to $113 billion. In June, total federal government revenue increased by approximately 13% compared to the same period last year. The U.S. federal government posted a fiscal surplus of $27 billion in June, compared to a deficit of $71 billion in the same period last year. The cumulative deficit for the first nine months of the fiscal year reached $1.34 trillion. After adjusting for calendar differences, the deficit for the fiscal year to date has narrowed by 1% year-on-year. President Trump’s imposition of a series of new tariffs on various goods and trading partners has boosted federal tariff revenue. Trump is seeking to use tariffs to revitalize domestic manufacturing and address trade imbalances.
