Trump: Agreement Reached with Indonesia Grants the U.S. Full Access to Indonesian Markets
U.S. President Trump stated that this morning, after a phone call with the President of Indonesia, I finalized an important agreement with the country. As part of the agreement, Indonesia has committed to purchasing $15 billion worth of U.S. energy products, $4.5 billion in agricultural products, and 50 Boeing aircraft, many of which are the 777 model. For the first time in history, our ranchers, farmers, and fishermen will have full access to the Indonesian market. In addition, Indonesia will pay a 19% tariff on all goods exported to the United States, while all U.S. exports to Indonesia will be exempt from tariffs and non-tariff barriers. If the relevant goods are transshipped from countries with high tariffs, the corresponding tariff from the country of origin will be added to the tariff paid by Indonesia.
