The probability of a Fed rate cut in September approaches 70%
According to ChainCatcher, citing Jintou News, Trump has hinted at plans to dismiss Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell. CME "FedWatch" data shows there is a 95.3% probability that the Federal Reserve will keep rates unchanged in July, and a 4.7% probability of a 25 basis point rate cut. For September, the probability of rates remaining unchanged has dropped to 32%, with a 64.9% chance of a cumulative 25 basis point cut, and a 3.1% chance of a cumulative 50 basis point cut.
