The probability of a Fed rate cut in September approaches 70%
According to Jinse Finance, Trump has hinted at the possibility of firing Federal Reserve Chairman Powell. CME "FedWatch" data shows there is a 95.3% probability that the Federal Reserve will keep interest rates unchanged in July, and a 4.7% probability of a 25 basis point rate cut. The probability of rates remaining unchanged in September has dropped to 32%, with a cumulative probability of a 25 basis point rate cut at 64.9%, and a cumulative probability of a 50 basis point rate cut at 3.1%.
