Elon Musk Rarely Praises Google: AI Computing Power Currently Leads, but Advantage May Shift Within a Few Years
According to ChainCatcher, xAI CEO Elon Musk made a rare move on Wednesday by praising his competitor Google. In a post on the X platform, Musk wrote: "Apart from the real-world AI sector, Google currently holds the greatest advantage in computing power (and data), so it is currently the most likely leader." However, he added that this situation "could change within a few years."
Financial reports show that Google continues to invest heavily in artificial intelligence. In last month's Q2 earnings call, the company announced it would increase its capital expenditure by $10 billion this year, reaching $85 billion. Google's CEO stated that the increased capital spending will help meet the growing demand for chips and Google AI products.
