Ethereum Foundation Releases Protocol Update 002 Detailing Progress in DAS Research
Foresight News reports that the Ethereum Foundation has released Protocol Update 002, detailing research progress on Distributed Storage Architecture (DAS) and its significance for the secure and scalable expansion of decentralized applications (DA). The update includes: Fusaka has launched PeerDAS, a new data architecture that enables blob scaling beyond current throughput levels, increasing from 6 blobs per block to 48 blobs per block; the Blob-Only Parameter (BPO) fork will gradually increase the number of blobs on the mainnet, supported by incremental peer-to-peer bandwidth optimization; the Glamsterdam initiative plans to adopt advanced networking technologies and iterate on the PeerDAS design for further scaling; as data volumes grow, mempool sharding technology can preserve Ethereum’s value; research into next-generation DAS will drive the evolution of secure DA scaling.
