On Monday, Kering announced that customer information from its luxury brands, including Gucci, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Yves Saint Laurent, and others, had been compromised in a data breach.
Cybercriminals obtained confidential client details, such as full names, email contacts, phone numbers, residential addresses, and the total amounts spent in stores worldwide. The incident was initially disclosed by the BBC.
Kering stated that no credit card data was accessed, and it has notified those customers whose information was involved, though it did not specify the number of affected individuals.
According to the BBC, the perpetrators are a notorious hacking group known as ShinyHunters, who claimed responsibility for stealing information linked to 7.4 million email addresses.
