Ripple Buys GTreasury for $1 Billion to Expand RLUSD Usage
- Ripple acquires GTreasury for $1 billion
- RLUSD Seeks Integration into Fortune 500 Treasuries
- Acquisition could expand the use of stablecoins in companies
Ripple announced its acquisition of GTreasury for $1 billion, marking a strategic move that could transform Ripple USD (RLUSD) into a stablecoin with real corporate use. The acquisition gives the company direct access to financial managers at major Fortune 500 corporations, which manage trillions of dollars in cash and short-term investments.
Since its launch in December 2024, RLUSD has grown 987%, reaching a supply of $839,9 million, although it still represents only 0,27% of the $301,9 billion stablecoin market. The integration with GTreasury promises to change this scenario by connecting the token to corporate treasury infrastructure.
🔥UPDATE: from my prediction @Rippl to just made a $1B power move 👀 By acquiring GTreasury, they're not just entering the corporate treasury space, they're bringing XRPL to Fortune 500 finance teams managing TRILLIONS in capital.

With over four decades of experience, GTreasury is widely used by CFOs and financial managers seeking to automate cash management. Ripple intends to integrate RLUSD into these companies' operational flows, enabling the movement of tokenized balances 24/7, instant account settlement, and access to higher-yielding repo markets—all without the need to restructure back-office systems.
The potential impact is significant. Corporate treasurers, who control large amounts of idle capital, will be able to use RLUSD to optimize returns and improve operational efficiency. This functionality represents a significant advantage for companies seeking diversification and continuous liquidity in their financial operations.
The acquisition also reinforces Ripple's strategy of consolidating its institutional infrastructure. In 2025, the company had already acquired Hidden Road for $1,25 billion, acquiring institutional brokerage capabilities, and Rail for $200 million, which accounts for over 10% of the global stablecoin commercial payments market.
With this framework, Ripple is building a complete enterprise stack capable of integrating RLUSD as a means of settlement, collateral, and cash management. The GENIUS Act, which regulates stablecoins in the United States, also provides the project with legal backing and greater regulatory predictability.
Analysts point out that GTreasury's integration could be the catalyst needed to take RLUSD to new heights. Connectivity with corporate treasuries offers not only volume and stability but also a direct path for the token to enter the wallets of the world's largest companies—a decisive step toward its consolidation among the leading global stablecoins.
