Mt.Gox postpones repayment deadline by another year to October 2026
Jinse Finance reported that the bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange Mt.Gox has postponed its repayment deadline by another year to October 2026. On Monday, Mt.Gox’s rehabilitation trustee announced that the basic repayments, early lump-sum repayments, and intermediate repayments for creditors who have “basically completed” all the required procedures have been “basically completed.” However, the announcement stated that many creditors have still not received repayments due to failure to complete the necessary procedures or issues encountered during the process. “In order to make repayments to such rehabilitation creditors within a reasonably feasible scope, the rehabilitation trustee, with court approval, has changed the repayment deadline from October 31, 2025, to October 31, 2026.” This latest announcement marks the third postponement of the repayment deadline for the defunct exchange, which was originally set for October 31, 2023.
