Franklin Templeton launches Hong Kong's first tokenized fund, HKMA initiates Fintech 2030 plan
ChainCatcher news, according to The Block, Franklin Templeton has launched Hong Kong's first tokenized money market fund. The fund is registered in Luxembourg, backed by short-term US Treasury bonds, and issues digital tokens representing investors' shares through blockchain technology.
This move aligns with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA)'s newly announced "Fintech 2030 Strategy," which was launched this week by Chief Executive Yue Wai-man. The strategy includes more than 40 initiatives aimed at integrating artificial intelligence tools, developing a tokenization ecosystem, and enhancing the resilience of the financial sector.
