Privacy technology is expected to go live before Q2 2026, and new gaming utilities are already in motion.

According to Shiba Inu ecosystem lead Lucie on November 27, 2025, Shibarium will adopt Zama’s Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE), an advanced privacy technology developed by the cryptography firm Zama.

With this upgrade, Shibarium will support encrypted smart contracts, private transactions, & secure governance tools, all without exposing user information.

Meanwhile, this change moves Shibarium from a standard Layer-2 network to a next-generation, privacy-focused blockchain designed for safer and more confidential activity.

However, Zama has already launched its public testnet on Ethereum Sepolia, with plans to go live on the Ethereum mainnet by late 2025. After that, the team will expand to EVM chains in the first half of 2026 and deploy separately on Solana by late 2026.

This upgrade is expected to unlock new possibilities for developers who want to build the next wave of blockchain apps, including privacy-focused DeFi protocols, secure gaming, improved governance tools, and decentralized apps for institutions that rely on confidentiality.

Users will gain stronger protection over their personal information, offering comfort to those who avoid blockchain platforms due to transparency concerns.

Shiba Inu simultaneously announced a collaboration with TokenPlay AI, an AI-driven gaming platform, to enhance Shibarium’s gaming ecosystem.

This deal integrates SHIB tokens into AI-powered play-to-earn mechanics, expanding utility amid rising developer activity. Shibarium now processes over 1 million daily transactions post-security upgrades

The move toward a privacy-ready Shibarium could attract more users and companies into the ecosystem. As interest grows, the native token SHIB could benefit from higher demand and stronger ecosystem utility.

Following Lucie’s announcement Shib token price jump 5.4% trading around $0.000009 with a market cap hitting $5.31 billion.
