According to Fortune magazine, SEC Chairman Gary Gensler once said during an appearance at a cryptocurrency-focused institutional investor event hosted by Bloomberg and Fidelity in 2018 that "Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), Bitcoin Cash ( BCH) are not securities."
