Bitget Hosts First "Hackathon – Demo Day" in Azerbaijan in Partnership with Azerbaijan Technical University

Bitget, a leading cryptocurrency exchange and Web3 company, together with Azerbaijan Technical University, held the country’s first hackathon for developers of blockchain and cryptocurrency solutions. The call for applications was announced earlier this month during a crypto conference in Baku. During this time, the company received over 30 applications from programmers, which were reviewed by a qualified jury. Teams consisting of students from AzTU, Baku Engineering University (BMU), and Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) took part in the competition. The projects focused on areas such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, data analysis, and other technological fields.
“This is the first time we’re organizing such a hackathon for developers in Azerbaijan, and we thank the leadership of Azerbaijan Technical University for the partnership. Our synergy in supporting talent is the first step toward implementing the large-scale BitgetBuilders and Bitget4Youth programs. I’m confident we’ll be able to launch even more impactful initiatives,” said Bitget COO Vugar Usizade.
Following the pitching session and detailed presentations, the hackathon jury selected the best projects. The prize distribution was as follows:
● 1st place – $1500, ThriftWire (AzTU)ThriftWire enables users to make fast and cost-effective international money transfers using blockchain and a P2P model.
● 2nd place – $1000, RugShield (BMU)RugShield is a platform that uses AI to analyze blockchain and social signals, warning users about potentially fraudulent tokens.
● 3rd place – $500, CopyStake (AzTU)CopyStake is a platform that allows creators and investors to buy and sell intellectual property rights via blockchain using cryptocurrency (Bitcoin).
Before the end of the year, Bitget plans to host several more events in Baku for local developers, investors, and crypto users.
