The Federal Reserve Board on Tuesday released the minutes for the discount rate meetings held on February 9 and March 18, 2026, covering the review and decisions regarding the discount rate offered to depository institutions through the discount window. The process for setting the discount rate differs from the process by which the Federal Open Market Committee sets the target range for the federal funds rate.

U.S. Energy Secretary Granholm stated on Tuesday local time that gasoline prices may remain high for “several weeks.”
