The United States issues temporary permits, while Iran remains committed to maintaining its sanction evasion channels.
(1) The US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control issued a general license on Monday, allowing business activities related to the production, sale, delivery, and unloading of Iranian crude oil, petrochemicals, and petroleum products, effective until August 21. (2) Central Bank of Iran Governor Hemmati said that several million barrels of oil have been exported over the past few days, and the advantage of this license lies in reducing the cost of fund transfers and simplifying the complex issues related to sanctions, though oil exports are still ongoing. (3) Hemmati emphasized that Iran has no intention of abandoning the evasion networks previously established to offset sanction pressures, and these existing channels will continue to remain effective.
