US SEC plans to adjust disclosure frequency based on company sizeGolden Ten Data reported on March 18 that, according to foreign media, the chairman of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) proposed that the frequency of information disclosure could be adjusted based on company size. After Trump called last year for corporate financial reporting frequency to be changed from quarterly to semi-annual, the SEC has been advancing related reforms. SEC Chairman Atkins previously promised to accelerate the promotion of this potential plan and stated that such an adjustment could save companies a significant amount of time and costs. Before releasing a request for public comment, the SEC must first submit the draft plan for White House review. Historically, it takes the SEC an average of about 18 months for rules to go from proposal to final implementation.
