Verastem Oncology announced that its oral, potential best-in-class investigational KRAS G12D (on/off) inhibitor VS-7375 has received Fast Track designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
This medication is intended for the treatment of patients with locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) carrying the KRAS G12D mutation. Fast Track designation is designed to accelerate the development and review process for drugs aimed at serious conditions that address unmet medical needs. This designation means that VS-7375 has the potential to address the critical clinical need in KRAS G12D-mutant NSCLC. For Verastem, this represents an important regulatory milestone in advancing its product pipeline.
