The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) has unveiled its Digital Markets Infrastructure (DMI) platform, a blockchain-powered system designed to modernize private market investments, and completed its first live transaction on the new network.
Developed in partnership with Microsoft and hosted on Microsoft Azure, the platform supports issuance, tokenization, distribution, settlement, and servicing of multiple asset classes. It makes LSEG the first global exchange group to deploy blockchain-native infrastructure covering the entire private funding cycle, while maintaining interoperability with both distributed ledgers and traditional finance systems.

Private funds debut on the platform
Private funds will serve as the initial asset class, with additional categories expected to follow. Early participants include MembersCap, Archax, and EJF Capital. MembersCap successfully executed a primary fundraise for MCM Fund 1 via the system, with Archax acting as nominee for a leading Web3 foundation.
Through integration with Workspace LSEG’s data and analytics platform professional investors gain streamlined access to private fund opportunities within their daily workflows. This allows General Partners to expand engagement and offers investors new avenues for discovery, analysis, and allocation in historically hard-to-access markets.
“This launch is a significant milestone,”
said Dr. Darko Hajdukovic, Head of Digital Markets Infrastructure at LSEG.
“Our platform is designed to improve access and liquidity for both digitally native and traditional assets.”
Driving institutional digital asset adoption
The DMI platform leverages an open, interoperable framework aimed at connecting global market participants, broadening distribution, and generating liquidity in a regulated environment. Microsoft’s Bill Borden described the collaboration as a step toward reshaping the financial landscape, combining blockchain scalability with institutional-grade security.
The rollout signals growing institutional appetite for digital asset infrastructure, positioning LSEG at the forefront of blockchain-driven financial innovation.
Meanwhile, Bitwise Asset Management has expanded into Europe with the launch of four new cryptocurrency ETFs on the London Stock Exchange, giving regional investors broader regulated access to the digital asset market.
