Since late August, the Bank of Korea's Digital Currency Office has been contacting the virtual asset managers of each bank by phone to inquire about their willingness to participate. The upcoming tests will focus on examining whether the government can distribute digital currency to subsidy recipients and use the current treasury payment subsidies or government-guaranteed vouchers (government-backed coupons).
